RENOVATION PROJECT
On Tuesday, May 26, 2009 renovation work began on the church steps, plaza and
sidewalks. We took the opportunity to photograph Massaro employees as they dug,
lifted and hauled away many years of concrete and stone. Check the thumbprints
below to view the work that has been completed.

On to Phase II, Left side exit.
Phase III is getting
underway! Right side exit.
August 10, 2009 - The handrails are painted and our parishioners are
now able to navigate the newly installed ramp with ease.
What a beautiful image at night!
As we come to the end stages of renovations on the front plaza,
steps, and side entrances, painting was being completed above the
front and side door overhangs for a final polished look. Once the left
side door was stained, it was ready for use.

WORK ON THE CHURCH PARAPET AND BELL TOWER
Last year, the parapet at the top of the church façade
was damaged during the severe storms that occurred.
Using a $23,000 payment from the diocesan insurance
company, our parish will begin repairs to the church
parapet and the bell tower in the early spring. The total
cost will be $48,600 with the remainder being paid from last
year’s parish surplus and the centennial campaign. The
repairs will be completed before Easter and will benefit the
church building for many years.
Work continues on the renovation our church.

REFURBISHING OUR CONFESSIONALS
This month, the two front confessionals are receiving
an interior renovation! We finally have an excellent
contractor who can do this work. Mr. Donn Hollman of
Inside Out Remodeling, Pleasant Hills, has begun this
long-awaited project. The interiors will be remodeled into
two sections so that chairs can be installed. A center
curtain and partition will allow each person to choose face
-to-face or anonymous. Kneeling will also continue to be
an option. Plan now to use the new confessionals soon!
